Should I Apply CBD Cream on My Skin?

If you've lately travelled down the pharmacy aisle, you may have noticed a new abbreviation appearing on the labels of several skincare products: CBD.

Hemp Moisturiser is a chemical substance obtained from the cannabis plant. CBD is not psychoactive, unlike THC, the primary element in marijuana, so consuming it or applying it to your skin will not make you feel "high."

CBD Creams, lotions, and creams are widely accessible as over-the-counter cosmetic products in several states, and the CBD business is rapidly expanding.

What effect does CBD have on your skin?

According to Dr. K CBD, a dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon, CBD may play a role in moisturising the skin and has anti-inflammatory effects, thus using a CBD-containing product may help with treating dry skin or certain inflammatory skin problems.

"However, additional research is required to determine whether CBD or other chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant directly improve skin quality and have other health advantages," adds Dr. K.

CBD's possible health benefits

While the effect of CBD Face Cream on your skin is unknown, Dr.s believes there is a lot of interest in Hemp Moisturiser research.

"Right now, we treat eczema, psoriasis, and other inflammatory skin disorders using anti-inflammatory drugs, the most frequent of which are topical corticosteroids," Dr. Gharavi explains.

"Topical steroids, on the other hand, have possible negative effects, particularly on thin skin around the eyes, armpits, or groyne."

If CBD can produce the same anti-inflammatory impact as a steroid without the potentially severe side effects, it could be a promising new treatment option for many skin disorders.

"I'd like to see additional data on how CBD Face Cream, as a topical drug, could have promising or comparable anti-inflammatory benefits as a steroid," adds Dr. Gharavi.

Are CBD Skin Care Products Safe?

According to Dr. Gharavi, putting a CBD Face Cream to your skin is likely to cause little harm.

Consult a dermatologist if you develop skin irritation, a rash, or an allergic response after using any form of skincare product.
